COMMON PROGRAMME
The national political parties which form the Union for Europe of the Nations Group in the European Parliament in saluting its achievements and confirming its identity:
Placing their trust in nations,they believe in a Europe free of any political, economic or cultural domination;
Placing their trust in the nation-state,they believe in a Europe founded on the freedom of its nations to decide and based on the legal equality of sovereign states;
Placing their trust in its people,they believe in a Europe which means the strengthening of democracy, the primacy of elected members and respect for its citizens whose fundamental freedoms must be guaranteed;
Placing their trust in democracy,they believe in a Europe which upholds the freedom and those rights which are based on human rights and the duties of its citizens;
Placing their trust in diversity,they believe in a Europe which respects the traditions of the states, preserves their cultural heritage and safeguards their own languages;
Placing their trust in subsidiarity,they believe in a Europe which does not take decisions which are better taken by the states themselves;
Placing their trust in solidarity,they believe in a Europe where economic and social cohesion results in prosperity for its people;
Placing their trust in peace, stability and security,they believe in a united but not uniform Europe, mobilised for great causes, governed by the values of western civilization and guided by humanist principles;
State their readiness to create the Alliance for Europe of the Nations.
